I don't know if it's possible but it would be nice to have a way to comment on the articles you have on your front page.

Sure it is!  Just grab the title of whatever article you want to comment on for the subject line, and the link if that's helpful, and post away!  Or copy and paste whatever you want to comment on.   We can keep them in "General Discussion" so folks don't have to go looking around for article discussions.
