Creating Emergency Lesson Plans
Emergencies will arise as you teach that will require you to call in sick without leaving lesson plans for the substitute. Therefore, you will need to make sure that you create a couple of emergency lesson plans to help in that situation. Most schools actually require you to turn these in to the office but just in case they get lost or your school doesn't require that, you should also note the location of your emergency lesson plans in your substitute folder. The key is to create plans that, while they don't necessarily relate to what you are currently teaching, will still give the kids something educational to do.
