BOINC - Open-source software for volunteer computing and grid computing

FILM (Finding Inspiration in Literature & Movies)  

FILM (Finding Inspiration in Literature & Movies) is a movie curricula program for young people promoting literacy, activity-based learning and service.

The program was created in 2004 by Heartland Truly Moving Pictures and the National Collaboration for Youth (NCY). Its focus is the development and distribution of free curricula based on Truly Moving Picture award-winning films to channel positive messages and life-affirming themes into the minds and lives of youth. The curricula is designed in conjunction with movie studios and youth educators to get youth reading and watching quality content, provoke thought and exploration of pertinent themes and issues, and inspire participation in theme-based activities and service projects.  http://www.youthfilmproject.org/

Help In Disaster.org  

This site is designed to register and affiliate volunteers prior to a disaster so that organizations within the disaster area can outreach to volunteers by their skills and availability and invite them to assist in the recovery effort. Learning to Give  
An Action of the Heart, a Project For the Mind - Learning to Give is an innovative educational initiative seeking to maintain and enhance a civil society. The Council of Michigan Foundations and a Steering Committee of thirteen collaborating leaders in education, volunteerism, and nonprofit leadership have successfully completed a unique effort to write, field test, implement and disseminate high quality K-12 curriculum lessons, units and materials on philanthropy. Ripple Kids  

Ripple Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering kids to take action in their communities by publicizing what their peers are doing.
